"I'm not homophobic, but..."
I just came across this Tumblr blog: http://not-homophobic-but.tumblr.com/
And now I’m going to go off on a rant.
People need to learn what it means to be homophobic and transphobic. Saying that you’re “not homophobic” or that you “have lots of gay friends” doesn’t automatically let you off the hook. The following remarks and statements make you...

There are better things I could be doing.
Have you ever climbed a mountain? -Not literally, no. That’s not really something I’m interested in doing.
Have you ever been sledding? -Aside from rolling a small plastic shed the size of a trashcan lid down a two-foot hill out back of my house, no.
Do you think it’s good to occasionally let yourself feel like a kid again? -Occasionally? Shoot. I let myself feel like a kid all the...

I stupidly did this while making brownies over Christmas. So I rolled them into balls, coated them in chocolate, added from sprinkles, and voila: Brownie bites.

Wardrobe: 2012.
Part of feeling good is looking good. Well, at least for me. Sure, I’ll leave the house in a t-shirt and my “fat jeans” with my hair in a ponytail and minimal makeup. As you can see, that’s what I did today. But I want 2012 to be a big year, especially for my career, relationship, and overall well-being. And so, I’m planning on gutting out my closet and starting a new...

GayWrites.: Today is World AIDS Day. →
gaywrites:
Today, people and groups all over the world honor the millions who have died of HIV/AIDS and the millions still fighting. Today, some of the most influential organizations in the world dedicate their time and their resources to finding a cure. Today, we’re grateful for what we have and fight…
A small donation or a red ribbon pinned to your shirt may not seem like much help....

I am so proud of Chaz Bono. He did so much more than just dance. He took a huge and brave step for the entire LGBT community. Team Schwaz may not have won the mirror ball, but I am not at all disappointed because I know that Chaz did something so much bigger — Out there, somewhere, he made a difference in the life of a transgender youth, and that says so much more than a silly trophy.

Chaz honored for trans activism →
gaywrites:
As a result of his work promoting transgender visibility and serving as an activist for the community, Chaz Bono will receive the Board of Directors Award from the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center on November 12.
“Chaz has been a trailblazer in our community for many years, bravely speaking his truth and working to make our movement stronger,” says the Center’s CEO Lorri Jean. “He has...

Just another straight girl for LGBT equality.
Today is National Coming Out Day. As a straight ally, it’s my job to come out everyday and speak out for LGBT equality. Normally, I only speak up to specific people… That fool who called a trans person a “he/she”, or that homophobe who called a gay person a “fag”, or that pathetic excuse of a parent who threatened to disown their child if they ever came out...
